Jesse Mudd is a seasoned family law attorney who has been serving Kentucky families with integrity, compassion, and legal excellence since 2003. A magna cum laude graduate of the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville, Jesse quickly distinguished himself through both academic achievement and leadership, serving as Senior Editor of the Brandeis Law Journal. His passion for the law began with a foundation in business administration, earning his B.A. from the University of Kentucky in 2000.
Jesse’s legal career spans more than two decades, during which he has earned a reputation as a thoughtful, strategic advocate in complex divorce and custody matters. Jesse also regularly prepares prenuptial and postnuptial agreements for his clients. He is admitted to practice in all Kentucky state courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
A frequent author and speaker, Jesse has contributed extensively to the legal field. He co-authored the Maintenance (alimony/spousal support) Chapter in both the First and Second Editions of Kentucky Domestic Relations Practice, and has published articles in the Brandeis Law Journal, Louisville Business First, and national legal publications. His article, “Divorce in Kentucky: What to Expect and Best Practices to Follow,” remains a valuable resource for clients navigating the challenges of divorce.
Jesse’s excellence in practice has been consistently recognized by his peers and the legal community. He has been named to the Kentucky Super Lawyers® list multiple times, including the “Kentucky Rising Stars” list in 2013 and 2014 and the Kentucky Super Lawyers list from 2021-2025. He was also named to Louisville Magazine’s “Top Lawyers” list for divorce law and honored as one of Louisville Business First’s “Forty Under 40.”
Beyond the courtroom, Jesse is deeply involved in his community. He has served on the Board of Directors for Wildwood Country Club and St. Mary’s Center, Inc., including chairing several of St. Mary’s Center’s major fundraisers. He also lends his time to pro bono efforts, including volunteering at pro se divorce clinics and mentoring high school mock trial teams. His commitment to service reflects the same dedication and care he brings to every client.
As a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Louisville Bar Association, the Brandeis Society, and the Louis D. Brandeis American Inn of Court, Jesse remains an active contributor to the legal profession. He previously chaired the Louisville Bar Association’s Litigation Section and continues to be a respected voice among his peers.
Whether guiding a client through divorce, custody, or other family law matters, Jesse provides the skilled advocacy and personal attention families need during life’s most difficult transitions.
